New for 2025, the Little Street Art Festival presents Fresh Faces — a platform for newer names emerging within the local urban art scene to make a mark. The Little Street Art Festival has always been a celebration of new and surprising artistic forces, so it makes sense to make this an official part of our annual programming.

We are stoked to welcome Temu and Lydia Perez to the inaugural line-up!

The first Fresh Face for 2025 is Temu — a talented young artist emerging from the Ōtautahi graffiti art scene. Temu’s character-centric style draws from anime and pop culture, utilising bright colours and exaggerated proportions to create a fresh and lively effect that stands out as a unique approach. Most importantly, Temu admits that her primary reason for working in this style is because it’s fun, and it’s something she would love to see more of across the city — and once you see her work, we are sure you will too!

Temu will create one of her signature anime-styled characters for the Little Street Art Festival at 211 Manchester Street - the former home of GapFiller’s iconic Dance-O-Mat between December 6-10th.

About Temu

Our second Fresh Face artist for 2025 is Lydia Perez (@lydiaperezmurals). Lydia can be found working in the art department for film, tv and theatre as an art director, where she gets to experiment with multiple mediums and styles. With her studio and mural work, she is able to experiment with her own styles, exploring both the representational and the abstract, with a strong sense of colour and form. Her mural for the Little Street Art Festival is originally inspired by Bauhaus shapes and designs, blended with architectural brutalistic sharpness to create something that is at once poised and dynamic. Lydia’s Little Street Art Festival mural will be painted at St Asaph Street’s The SQ.
